Tell us about ANJ Turnkey Projects Pvt. Ltd in detail. What motivated you to move ahead with the business venture?

ANJ Group is an Architectural Design & Turnkey Contracts firm specializing in Design & Build solutions across the Architectural, Corporate Interiors, Hospitality, Industrial & Institutional verticals. We’ve been in the industry for over 35 years having executed over 50 million Sft through 1500+ projects across 60 cities in India. ANJ Group provides end-to-end solutions with all functions right from Architects & Interior Designers, Project Managers & MEP Engineers to a 2500 strong build team coupled with a 50,000 Sft advanced manufacturing facility in Mumbai. The core concept/brand philosophy has been ‘giving life to ideas’ and bring innovative ground breaking concepts and design intents into tangible existence. We’re a process driven and service oriented firm and have worked with the best of clients across sectors in our vast experience spanning over three decades. To make this all a reality, has been the motivation actually!!

1.        We all know that your dedicated efforts have made ANJ Turnkey Pvt. Ltd. reach to great heights. How do you see the company changing in two years? How do you see yourself bringing about the change?

Sustainability is a core value around which ANJ Group operates. Be it sustainability at our project sites (such as water conservation, safety, no VOC emissions, etc) or sustainability in Design (use of green materials, maintenance free, durable), we approach every activity through the lifecycle of a project to ensure sustainability & longevity. We’re spreading awareness about this through the ranks at ANJ and hope to see tangible results within a set timeframe.

2.        Enlighten us about your three great achievements in life.

Taking over the reins at a young age

Foraying the company into Design & Build Solutions

Reputed clients across sectors awarding us multiple projects

3.        What has been the biggest turn-down point in your career so far? How do you view the turn-down to be? Did it make you or break you?

The recession in 2009-10 was a big turn-down. It was a big challenge to wade through those times. But that challenge made us rise up and deliver. Innovative solutions, creative products and the resilience to make it work became the order of the day. That kind of lead us into being where we are today.

4.        How do you manage the overall working environment in your company? What is the biggest strength of your workforce?

My team sees me more as a colleague and friend rather than the boss. I look at myself in a way as also a worker for the company. That’s the work culture we follow at ANJ Group. Everyone’s a worker yet a boss at the company. I’m generally working around the clock. But I don’t feel like I’m working. I’m just living my passion and my dream. So I enjoy and look forward to all the time I spend around work.

5.        Who do you consider is your biggest competitor in the design and building firms industry? How to do aim to stand out from the rest?

– It’s a small industry and there is competition from all quarters. But we consider ourselves our biggest competition. We’re competing against our previous project in order to do better. What stands us apart is that we are one of the very few companies with end-to-end capabilities for providing  Design & Build solutions giving us much more control on quality, time line and cost parameters compared to others who outsource most functions.

6.        What are the recent projects undertaken by the ANJ Turnkey Pvt. Ltd? How is it meant to benefit the general public?

           Accenture (Across locations in India)

           Autodesk (Pune)

           Mastercard (Pune)

           Apple (Hyderabad), etc

           Panalpina (Mumbai)

           Jacobs (Mumbai), etc

More projects meaning more workspaces leading to more employment and better infrastructure to boast of for the region.

7.        What are your thoughts in the development of the design and building sector in India? How does your company aim to achieve the same?

Design is routed in the culture & values of the client. It stems from who they are and what they do. The design must reflect the business space that the client operates in. And hence it is customized for each and every client and tailored to their precise requirements. As Architects, we then give form and functionality to the above. Our experience and knowledge then comes in to suggest the latest of technology and products available in the market, design trends and international standards being followed worldwide, etc and then integrate elements that are best suited to that particular clients need. Our aim is to be the preferred Design & Build partner for clients worldwide looking for Interior Fit-out solutions by means of providing innovative & creative designs integrating the best-in-class technology, followed by high-quality and timely execution coupled with superior customer experience our clients.-

8.        What could be your message to the entrepreneurs out there in the design and building sector?

Dream big and pursue it. Success awaits you !!
